Falling Feels Like Flying

So I guess
This method of
Not getting attached
Is not effective at all

Because it consists
Of endless thoughts of you
Streaming through my head
Every goddamn second
Of every single day

And it’s making me vulnerable
To your poisonous kiss
Or the inevitable promise of goodbye

But I can’t help it.

I fell for you
Like an innocent pedestrian
Who missed the wet floor sign
And I can’t get up

But from this position,
Every magnificent curve on your face,
Your penetrating eyes,
And the ways you make me laugh
Make me not want to.

Because although I’m flat on the ground
You make me feel like
I’m flying
And I don’t want to come down.
