Homesick

I want to whisper forevers into
The salty sweat of your ivory skin
I miss your sandpaper stubble on my face
And the taste of our lips dancing together
My legs don’t feel right
When they aren’t entangled in yours
The gaps between my fingers
Are lacking company
I think about the melody we made
Punctuated by harmonious humming
And occasional gulps for breath
Sighs of “I love you”
It’s always stuck in my head
I long to be wrapped in your arms again
Because they were the only thing
That ever felt like home
