Bittersweet Memories

Flood gates open with a gust of wind
Washing in fairy tale memories
Long buried—
I wrote the obituary months ago

Unearthed and newly revived
They took advantage
Of my hospitality—
Barging in without a knock

It’s storming now and I’m locked in
Humming sweet yesterdays
And cursing myself for it—
This was never meant to happen

  1. I like this. It just happened to me yesterday that I caught myself going down memory lane.
